Health Reminder

Greetings everyone,

I hope this message finds you well. Today, I am writing to talk about health—a concept we often hear about but might not understand. Allow me to offer you a holistic view that reflects the innate interconnection between our physical form, mental capacity, and spiritual essence.

It is important to note that health is as infectious as disease. But what exactly is 'health'? It's not just the absence of illness; health is a comprehensive well-being across various aspects of our existence.

The Three Aspects of Health: Body, Mind, and Spirit

According to Webster's dictionary, health is the "condition of being sound in body, mind, or spirit." But what does it truly mean to be sound in these three areas?

  1. The Physical Dimension (Body): The body is our tangible structure, a composition of matter distinct from other forms. It is the vessel through which we express.

  2. The Mental Dimension (Mind): Our mind encompasses organized thought processes, both conscious and subconscious. Through it, we comprehend the world and direct our actions and perceptions.

  3. The Spiritual Dimension (Spirit): Spirit is often likened to the vital principle—akin to the electricity that animates a machine. It is the innate force that animates us, the origin of life and, in essence, what we are at our core.

Understanding these definitions sheds light on the interconnected systems at play within us. Just as particles of energy compose a light bulb, which illuminates when powered, we too are radiant beings whose 'illumination' is harnessed through the energy that is our spirit.

Health as Harmony and Expression

Health can then be seen as a harmonious flow, the unhindered expression of life through our being. It is the state where our physical, mental, and spiritual components operate without discord, allowing us to radiate vitality.

Conversely, 'dis-ease' signifies a disruption in this flow—resistance that hinders our natural state of being sound. To cultivate health is to nurture the flow of our life force within the laws of nature.

Dr. Fleet, in his book Rays of the Dawn, simply explains the laws of health and disease. By grasping these laws, we gain insight into our own lives, learning what strengthens our resilience and what leaves us vulnerable.

Towards a Wholesome Resolution

In pursuing holistic health—derived from the Greek word 'holos,' meaning whole—it is important to consider all aspects of our being. It is through physically caring for the body, expanding the mind, and nourishing the expression of spirit, that ultimately guides us towards a more robust expression of the self.

This brings me to the root of the matter: the origin of health. If we are indeed spirit, the life-giving energy within ourselves, then it is logical to conclude that health comes from within. That is why Γνῶθι σαυτόν or Know Thyself was inscribed on the temple of Apollo in ancient Greece.  To Know Thyself (spirit) and to know the laws through which you operate allows to align your life with an expression of health.

Recognizing this internal source of well-being prompts us to consider the role of healthcare providers in a new light. Their primary duty is to enlighten individuals about self-knowledge and the laws of life, empowering each person toward their own expression of health. That is why the true meaning of the word doctor which means teacher.

Health is not something that comes from the outside, it is something that you nurture to become through lawful living.

I hope this provokes thought, because just by thinking about it, you are expanding, and through expansion comes greater health.

Enjoy Health!

Dr Nick
